The Session The Space What to Bring Etiquette Sessions FAQ

Your Session, Step by Step

Before You Arrive

Hydrate well and have a snack before. You're about to sweat a lot. Coming fueled and hydrated makes a real difference.

1

Arrive & Check In

Please arrive 10 mins early to check in, change and rinse off. Sessions start on time: once the sauna's door closes, no entry until the next session.

2

First Round

The icebreak. The gusmaster begins — towel work, oils, music. You're easing in, slowing down. The first plunge cracks you open. Like the first day of vacation: excited, a little unsure, finally calming down.

3

Second Round

You know what to expect now. Heat goes deeper, music shifts, the cold sharpens you instead of shocking you. Like mid-trip: you've forgotten what day it is, fully here, finally relaxed.

4

Third Round

The peak. Heat at its highest, mind at its quietest. The final plunge sends you out clear, strong, buzzing. Like the last day of a great vacation: so present you don't want it to end.

5

Après Social Sauna

15 mins of social sauna at low heat. No guide — this is the social round. Talk to the person next to you. Decompress. After, head out to the lounge, the outdoor patio, or grab a refreshment.

6

Leave Buzzing

Shower, change, hydrate. You'll feel calm, clear-headed, and buzzing. The feeling lasts through the night and into tomorrow.

7

Built for Saunagus

The Colosseum

Colorado's largest sauna. Tiered stadium seats wrap a center stage. Purpose-built for aufguss, seats up to 55 — every seat's a good one.

Cold Plunge Tubs

Three tubs. Two social tubs (10 people each) at 42°F and 46°F, plus a small ice chaser at 34–36°F. You pick your intensity.

Indoor & Outdoor Lounge

Indoor lounge opens to an outdoor patio with a fire pit. A garage-style divider connects both — fresh air between rounds, in any weather.

Changing Rooms

8 individual rooms. Small lockers for essentials — keys, phone, wallet. Leave anything extra in your car.

Showers & Rinse Stations

Shower before you enter. Rinse between rounds to clear sweat and oils. A cold rinse after the sauna and before the plunge feels amazing.

Welcome Lounge

Dry seating before your session and after you change. Meet friends, decompress, settle in.

What to Bring

Swimsuit Unfortunately this is not Europe. We follow Colorado culture.
*Textile-free options at select special events.
2 White Towels One for the sauna bench, one for showering. White preferred: fewer dyes, safer for the sauna & your skin.
Water Bottle Refill inside with complimentary electrolyte, celtic salt, or plain water.

We offer towel rentals, swimwear rentals, and refreshments for purchase.

*Flip flops welcome in the lounge and at the plunge — not in the sauna.

Sauna Etiquette

Rinse Often

Shower each time before sauna or cold tub. It's simple — keeps you and our space fresh.

Quiet in the Sauna

The guided rounds are a silent space, led by the gusmaster. All the conversation you want welcome in the tubs and lounges.

White Towels Preferred

Fewer dyes, safer for the sauna and your skin. Not a hard rule, but a strong preference. Towel rentals available.

Leave It Outside

No phones, no jewelry, no plastic, no perfumes or scented products. Stainless water bottles can stay on the lower bench.

No Late Entry

Sessions start on time. Once the sauna door closes, no entry until the next round.

Sauna Safe Materials

Hats, swimwear, accessories — all should be sauna-safe. Natural fibers preferred. No synthetics that melt or off-gas in heat.

Questions & Answers

Is it really that hot?
The sauna reaches 80–100°C (175–212°F). It's intense but manageable — the facilitator controls the heat and you can always step out. Most first-timers are surprised how comfortable it is with proper guidance.
Do I have to do the cold plunge?
It's encouraged but never required. We have three tubs at different temperatures — 46°F, 42°F, and a 34°F ice chaser for the brave. Start warm and work your way down. Most people who try it once end up loving it.
What do I wear?
Swimsuit. That's it. Rash guards and board shorts are fine too. This is a textile space — swimsuits always on.
Is it co-ed?
Yes, all sessions are co-ed. The environment is respectful and welcoming.
Can I leave during a round?
Absolutely. Step out whenever you need to. No judgment. Your facilitator will make sure you're comfortable.
How is this different from a normal sauna?
Completely different. A normal sauna is a hot room you sit in. Saunagus is a guided 60-minute experience with aromatherapy, live towel dance, curated music, breathwork guidance, group cold plunges, and real community. It's the difference between sitting in a pool and surfing.
How long is a session?
60 minutes guided, plus a 15-minute optional après social sauna after. Most people stay for the social — it's where strangers become friends.
Is there an age limit?
Under 16 must be accompanied by a guardian. We also host Little Vikings sessions — special kid-friendly sauna experiences.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes. Sessions have limited capacity and fill up. Book ahead to guarantee your spot.
I have a medical condition. Can I participate?
Please consult your doctor if you have a health condition and are unsure about participating. We require all guests to sign a waiver before their first session.
